Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund invests ₹100 crore in Ekkaa Electronics, leads funding round as sole institutional investor

23 Jul 2026

Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund, the maiden private equity scheme of India-Ahead Private Equity Trust, has further strengthened its investment portfolio by leading a ₹100 crore funding round in Ekkaa Electronics India Limited.

The transaction highlights the growing role of Category II Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) in backing scalable Indian businesses across high-growth sectors. Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund is a SEBI-registered Category II AIF, operating under registration number IN/AIF2/21-22/0980.

A growing private equity platform

Launched as the maiden private equity fund of Abakkus Investment Managers Private Limited, the fund forms part of the Abakkus Group, a leading Indian fund house founded by Sunil Singhania. The group manages assets worth approximately $5 billion as of June 30, 2026.

Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund follows a sector-agnostic investment philosophy, focusing on scalable businesses led by strong founders with long-term growth potential. Since its inception in 2024, the fund has invested in several high-quality companies across diverse sectors.

The fund completed its final closing on September 30, 2024, and is now closed for subscription, reflecting its transition from capital raising to portfolio deployment and value creation.

Focus on India’s manufacturing opportunity

The latest investment in Ekkaa Electronics aligns with the fund’s strategy of identifying businesses positioned to benefit from India’s evolving economic and industrial landscape. Ekkaa operates in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) space, a sector that is expected to witness significant growth as India strengthens its domestic electronics manufacturing ecosystem.

Commenting on the investment, Ankit Aggarwal, Fund Manager at Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund, said the company’s execution capabilities and the broader opportunity in electronics manufacturing made it an attractive investment proposition.

The investment underscores how private equity-focused AIFs are increasingly playing a pivotal role in supporting India’s next generation of manufacturing and technology-led enterprises.
