IIFL Wealth and Asset Management
(IIFL WAM) has announced the appointment of Anshuman Goenka as the Head of
Private Equity (PE) with effect from August 23, 2021. In this role, Goenka will
spearhead the Private Equity practice and work towards identifying new growth
opportunities for the business in the unlisted space.
Goenka has earlier worked with
Investcorp (where he led investments in healthcare and financial services),
Standard Chartered PE and Baer Capital Partners. Prior to his PE career, he also
worked at BCG, Accenture and Rabo India.
Private equity is an important
growth area for IIFL Asset Management (IIFL AMC). IIFL AMC has acquired
meaningful scale with more than US Dollar 2 billion assets under management in
unlisted equity from Indian family offices and high net worth individuals
(HNWIs).
IIFL Private Equity is a part of IIFL Asset Management (IIFL AMC) and has been active in the private equity ecosystem since late 2015. Across multiple strategies, IIFL Private Equity manages an AUM of more than US Dollar 2 billion from early-stage to late-stage investments across Consumer, Technology, Financial Services and Healthcare space.
In a span of 5 years, IIFL
Private Equity Fund has made investments in multiple unicorns in India and has
also generated exits from few of their portfolio companies.
