Mr. Mayur Rao

Mayur Rao is the Founder, CEO, and General Partner of Maatra, where he leads the firm's strategy, systematic investment process, and technology infrastructure. With over 15 years of experience in global markets, he has deep expertise in algorithmic trading, data, quantitative investment management, and the operational systems that support them. He began his career as a Risk Developer at Bank of America, working across all business lines. He then joined J.P. Morgan's Equities Algo Trading desk, focusing on execution strategy and market microstructure, followed by a role at Deutsche Bank in the Securitized Products group, contributing to cross-asset initiatives. At BlackRock, Mayur advised on high-value mandates for some of the firm's largest institutional clients—including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and several of the world's largest REITs—supporting multi-billion-dollar portfolios across strategy, risk, and regulatory change. He later joined ExodusPoint Capital, where he played a key leadership role spanning technology, investments, data infrastructure, and risk—helping build core systems at one of the largest multi-manager hedge funds globally. Mayur holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's from Anna University. He is also an active early-stage investor and co-owns the Philadelphians, Philadelphia's Minor League Cricket franchise.
