OAKS Asset Management, a mid-market private equity fund, has announced the launch of its second fund, i.e. OAKS India Consumer Fund. The AIF category-II Fund, registered with SEBI, will seek to invest in a set of experienced entrepreneur-led consumer businesses in the country, according to reports.
The fund will seek to partner with proven founders who are demonstrating meaningful revenues and growth in large target markets in a capital-efficient manner. The team’s track record includes investments in Hero Electric, Foodlink, Vini Cosmetics and Hardcastle Restaurants. The Rs 500-crore fund will aim to invest in about 10-12 businesses, reports said.
OAKS Asset Management was formerly known as Alpha Capital. The company was co-founded by Vishal Ootam, Vivek Anand PS, Sandeep Somani and Kenneth Serrao.
